TR2 Committee Scholarship Criteria


The TR2 Committee (a not for profit organization) will select students from complete application packages received via Email and date/time stamped by February 28, 2017, 11:59pm CDT. Potential awardees will be notified by March 15, 2017 and expected to attend the TR2 Scholarship Award Brunch on April 15, 2017. For a list of awardees, visit us on the web: http://attmabellreunion.webs.com/ To Qualify: The TR2 Committee will select awardees based on the following criteria: 1) Legal permanent resident of the of the United States 2) High School graduate by the summer of 2017 3) High School grade point average of 2.5 or above (based on a 4.0 or above scale) along with report card and/or transcript for the 2016-2017 school year 4) Student must enroll in a US located accredited college or university in the fall of 2017 5) Current college students must carry a grade point average of 3.0 or above, along with an official transcript*  6) Students must agree to use the scholarship to assist with the cost of tuition, fees, books, room and board, computers, health insurance and other college-related expenses 7) Provide a non-returnable headshot photo of yourself (4x6 min.) Checklist – Before submission, make sure your application package includes: completed application, official transcript copy, college letter of acceptance, educator’s nomination letter, community service letter of recommendation, essay, and photo. 1) Essay: Today, many of our communities are being ravaged by unwarranted violence, much of which is a result of individuals’ inability to resolve conflict, peaceably. In 300 words or less (typewritten), describe an incident you encountered in which you were able to use conflict resolution knowledge/skills to bring the situation to a peaceful resolve. How did you demonstrate your intellectual and leadership capabilities, and apply them, to help improve the lives of others?
